Microsoft is releasing a security bulletin for Internet Explorer at noon today. The out-of-band security bulletin MS10-18 is a cumulative security update for Internet Explorer that contains fixes for privately reported vulnerabilities rated Critical on all versions of Internet Explorer. The security update also resolves the publicly disclosed vulnerability in Microsoft Security Advisory 981374.
Security updates are available from Microsoft Update and Windows Update. Security updates are also available at the Microsoft Download Center. Please note that systems joined to the LSU Active Directory automatically receive the critical security update when available.
The IT Security and Policy Office recommends that all users upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 to benefit from the improved security protection it offers. Internet Explorer 8 is available for download from Tigerware (http://tigerware.lsu.edu/title.aspx?id=1386).
Remember to close all applications at the end of work day today, as this update may require a restart of your machine.
