Phishing attempt claiming to be Helpdesk Mail Support
University IT security professionals have seen e-mail phishing attempt from an attacker claiming to be from "Helpdesk Mail Support". The message states that maintenance is being performed and the Digital webmail services are being upgraded. It states that all unused webmail account will be deleted and requests the user to confirm the webmail details (User name, password, and date of birth).
These messages are completely fraudulent. DO NOT reply to the phishing e-mail. Never give your account passwords (PAWS, e-mails, etc..) to anyone. ITS will never ask anyone for their PAWS or e-mail password.
