Host On Demand

Host On-Demand (HOD) is a Java application that provides connectivity to a TN3270 server. This HOD client will allow the user to connect to TPX, IMS and TSO on the LSU Enterprise Server.

Running Host On-Demand

When you click on the link below, a download process will be invoked to store the client into your browser's nonvolatile cache.

You may get a pop up window asking “Do you want to run this application?” Click Run to continue. After a few seconds, you will see the LSUMVS-secure HOD mainframe window.

This browser based version of the client is dependent on the web browser. If the browser closes or crashes then the HOD session will also end.

To add an icon for HOD to your desktop, click and drag the browser URL (lsumvs.sncc.lsu.edu/hod/lsumvs-secure.html ) to your Desktop.

Changing Settings

Keyboard settings, screen colors, and display attributes can be customized. The settings can be found in the running HOD session by clicking on Edit - Preferences and then the object you want to change such as Color, Display or Keyboard. To save your changes, select File in the Menu bar and Save and Exit.

What if session 3270 closes unexpectedly?

If the browser based version of the client is installed, it is dependent on the web browser. If the browser closes or crashes then the HOD session will also end.
